It's here and we are all still alive. Admit it...you all thought for a split second, "but what if the world does end?" and had a slight moment of panic. Sadly folks there was no big fireworks but we should all be a happy to have just a little more time. Enjoy it!
I don't care that is is going to be played all day.
Today I was all bundled for the "epic" snow storm and I walk outside and it was basically 80 out. As soon as I stepped onto the train with all my gear, my glass fogged up and I instantly started sweating. It's similar to when you get in the elevator at work and you still have all your winter stuff on so you get so over heated you started to literally rip things off in a panic. Or after you put everything on and you start talking to someone before you leave and you are inching your way to the door during the conversation because you are boiling. You can always hear someone at one point say "I have to leave because I am so hot right now!" and just storm away. Today was one of those days.
Even though I am completely against "Draco," a terrifying/ridiculous name, I was still pretty excited about the first snow fall. It is always very peaceful to watch and puts me a good mood. I assume I will be cursing it come February but for now I am going to enjoy it.
The week leading up to Christmas is always a favorite of mine. Everyone is in a good holiday spirit and the week is filled with spending time with friends and family, doing some last minute holiday prep and lots and lots of treats and goodies. My brother Michael loves Christmas more than anyone I know. This is a favorite song among my family that we always play at Christmas time and it always reminds me of him.
It doesn't seem right to talk about my weekend without talking about the Newtown school shooting. While I don't have kids and was not personally affect by what happened I know it broke the hearts of all of us. I don't really know what to say or how to talk about what happen except to say that my prayers are with the Newtown community.
Happy Birthday Lisa Marie! You have been an amazing friend and I am so lucky to have you in my life. I know that 25 is going to bring you a so many amazing memories. I can't wait to see where life brings all of us!
The 12/12/12 day has come and gone. Even though it was like every other day I wanted to make it a little special. Michelle and I ventured down the street to a bar in a our neighborhood that we had not been to.. I know what your thinking...what a "special" thing to do. But it actually was a great bar! They had a lot of different beers on tap and, lucky me, tons of gluten free options. However, after ordering a gluten free bun, the manager informed me that they were out so I opted for a regular bun. (Obviously I am taking the gluten free thing really seriously) After getting our order the waiter came running in our direction informing/panicking that the bun was not gluten free. After I assured him that I was not going to die from eating gluten he stopped freaking out and said "Ohh good! I was so worried that there was a bun on the loose!"
On the way home I confessed to Michelle that I had lost something that was really important to me and I had no idea where to look for it. For the record, I lose everything. But I was really upset about this particular item and I think I avoiding ever really looking for it because then I would have to admit that it was lost. Well let me tell you, it took only 2 prayers to St. Anthony before that thing popped up! I don't consider myself over religious but St. Anthony works about 90% of the time so I always give him a try. The power of prayer.
I may or may not have taken a sweater out of my goodwill pile and worn it today. There were only a few holes in it. I honestly thought I got away with it until my friend at work openly called me out on it. I deserved it.
Mondays never get easier. Luckily two great things happened to me this weekend to make Monday a little better. First, I got HBO Go back just in time for the second season of Girls to premiere. Hallelujah. I am also able to officially watch Game of Thrones which I was way behind on. Second, my roommate came home so we were finally able to finish season 1 of the Wire. Woo woo! Just so you are aware, I have no shame in the amount of TV I watch.
