What a Day!

It was a big day. Both DOMA was ruled unconstitutional and Prop 8 was dismissed! Like so many Americans I was thrilled to hear the news. Victories like this are definitely meant to be celebrated. I know some great people who deserve marriage equality and I am overjoyed to see our country moving in the right direction. Cheers to a historic day!

Tuesday Song + BLACKHAWK CHAMPS!!!

The Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup last night!!!!

 

I definitely partied with the rest of the city and stayed up way to late celebrating the win! I have never seen Chicago like that.  Everywhere you went people were out shouting, clapping and highfiving strangers. We ventured down to Clark street where people piled into the street and jumped on cars! I am so happy I was downtown when they won but I know all my Chicagoians were celebrating no matter where they were! 

 

So in honor of the champs this will be on repeat all day.

We made it to Friday and it's officially the first day of summer! Woo Woo!

 

I spent yesterday completly organizing my life for summer and it feels fantastic. I literally threw my winter jacket in the trash. It felt really great and motivating. Almost like I was saying F you to winter. It really was just broken so I need to get a new one anyways....

 

It's currently raining for the first official day of summer but I don't mind because I am hoping it cools of the temperature a little bit. I don't want it to be too toasty for my much needed reunion with the besties. We are celebrating GDQ 25th birthday!!!

Wise Words

Today I felt very misunderstood. (Side note, that could totally be the title for something hipster and artsy.) It's hard to not want to lay into people sometimes. I find myself getting told no, or that I am wrong. My message is being wrongly communicated or misrepresented by something else. My thoughts and words are getting overly analyzed. Needless to say I am pretty bugged.

 My friend posted a quote that made me a feel a lot better about how miffed I have been.

Tuesday Song

The past couple times I have gone to the doctor they mention how in shape  I am. I always find it that pretty funny because I am not the best eater nor do I work out that often. I have always been okay with that because normally when I see myself in a mirror I always think "Ehh it could always be worst." Last night while shopping for a dress I checked myself out in the mirror and was so disappointed. Yikes is all I have to say to that image. Needless to say I need to get in shape and lose some LBs. Big time.

 

This jam has been on repeat the last couple weeks and I am going to use it as my summer fitness inspiration. There are so many good looking people in the video that you too will want to get your butt to the gym. Here's to being the "hottest bit** in this place."

Fathers Day+Summer Time

Summa Summa Summa time in the city! The Blackhawks are in the playoffs, the weather is getting warmer, and I am having a mini reunion with some of my besties this weekend. Summer in the city is in full swing! 

I spent this weekend celebrating all the wonderful dads in my life but specifically my own. Tbone not only supported us through all of lives decisions but also showed us what its like to unconditionally love someone. He is a real inspirational father and husband. Love ya Tbone!

Summer Projects

I survived the epic storm last night. It really wasn't anything more than a normal storm but they were predicting something catastrophic which scared the sh** out of me! I don't do well in storms.

Chicago has been having some good weather finally and today it is a beautiful 70 degrees out. If only it stayed this way all summer. Then I wouldn't be a sweaty mess every time I stepped outside. A girl can dream.

 

I am feeling very motivated right now and I want to take on some summer projects. I definitely plan on putting together my desk space. Right now its a big blank wall with a white desk and I need to really jazz it up. I want a place I can feel creative and get work done.  Here are some things I am digging.

Weekend Crazy

I should have stayed in this weekend to make sure I got better but instead I decided to go balls to the walls. It was my cousin Matt and his fiance Steph last weekend in town so we really lived it up. Plus the Blackhawks won so all around there was a whole lot of celebrating. The night quickly turned into shots, cheese fries, and 3:30am giggles with some of my favorite cousins. While I am so sad that Matt and Steph are headed off to Miami I am glad that we were able to send them off with a bang! I am also glad that they got a two bedroom apartment so I have some place to crash when those Chicago winter months get bad!

I'm back from my adventures and full of stories. Ireland also left me with a nasty sinus infection that I have been dealing with all week. Blah! I am super happy that its Friday to catch up on some much needed rest. I will leave you with some snap shots from our amazing trip!
