Pumpkin Carving

Earlier in the week Pattie and I planned the most epic fall day ever full of pumpkin carving, butterbeer, and a Harry Potter marathon.  Since we live in the city we tend to be lacking pumpkin "patches." Instead we have more pumpkin "lots" but they still get the job done.

As much fun as pumpkin carving is it also really really hard! Not only to you have to scoop out all the guts of the pumpkin, which by the way is seriously nasty,  you also have to put some hardcore strength into getting that knife into the pumpkin. On top of all this you have a huge fear getting your hand cut off while try to cut the perfect eye triangle between the lines. I have a whole new appreciation for parents who do this with their kids.
Siblings ready to get their carving on.
One of the best part about spending the day carving pumpkins was it was with all Harry Potter fans. Yes...you read that correctly people. I love Harry Potter and there is nothing better than spending time with others who also love Harry Potter especially when they all our down with watching it all day.

To really get into the Harry Potter spirit we thought it might be fun to make butterbeer. While it was fun...it was not successful. And by that I mean it was super nasty. We thought adding butterscotch schnapps would help but, unfortunately, nothing can take away the fact that you are drinking condensed milk.
This might look like a milkshake but it is not.
The tiny one won the contest.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Love, love, love
